Payroll
With the Super Bowl and 2008 coming to a close there is a lot of paperwork to do. Recently my boss and I worked on payroll for the Super Bowl and made an invoice for Gameday management who was our client for the Super Bowl for the past two years. It went so well! It is rewarding to know that not only am I learning about tourism and the staffing and transportation end of it, but also how to pay people that I hire! Also, since tax season is coming up I have been assigned to help manage and organize the information from 2008. A lot of work and time has went into it so far, but it is awesome to see it come together in such a seamless format that is very basic, and easy to understand. I know it will help in a month when all of the payroll information from 2008 is turned in to our accountant. I can't wait to see what project I am assigned to work on next. All I know is that I will learn a lot from it and have fun doing so!

I cannot imagine dealing with payroll... I had to cash the checks for my supervisor yesterday for guest housing and that seemed like a monumental task in itself. Congratulations on learning something like that, I'm sure it will come in very valuable later on!
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa,
ReplyDeleteIs your boss Yvette, who has come to speak to the class several times during the course of the year? She seems to know so much about event planning, so you will surely learn plenty from her. Payroll doesn't sound too exciting, but we'll have to take the good with the not too good in our intenships. I think you'll do well!!
Yes, that's her! I am learning so much and I really can't wait to see what she will be able to teach me next!
